The famous Bridge of Sighs. It is so named due to its sad history: prisoners would be sentenced at the Doge’s Palace, left, and were sent to their doom to the executioners, on the right. The one-way trip would be made across this bridge, hence the name. (photo by projectionist Annie Li)
